Our Galaxy Rocks: The Odyssey Augmented Journey Begins

Welcome to our incredible journey into the universe of extended reality with Odyssey Augmented – a passion project that has been two decades in the making and is finally ready to lift-off.

Our mission is to boldly go where no VR has gone before: pioneering entirely new frontiers of interactive entertainment, blending the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Odyssey Augmented is an immersive space simulation, combining elements of extended reality and immersive theatrical effects – seamlessly weaving them together with state-of-the-art virtual technology.

As we venture into the unknown, we are excited to share the first steps we are taking in shaping our extended reality universe. Our very talented Cody Stevens kicked off the genesis of our simulation experience with a beautiful asteroid mini-game.

1. Our universe began with rocks – virtual space rocks – a dynamic asteroid generation system, to be exact.

2. Next up, seamless chunk loading and object collisions.

3. .We need a spaceship with proper navigation controls.

4. Finally, laser guns and explosions along with a system for fracturing objects – producing some fun 🪨💥🤯 effects!

Our space adventure is only just beginning, but we’re already breaking new ground (and asteroids), and we are exhilarated to see what lies beyond the next cosmic horizon. With a team as talented and passionate as ours at Odyssey Augmented, we believe that we’re set to bring a universe of unique experiences to adventurers of all ages.
